Modular
Unlike the standard EFIS, FlightView is modular. The display is a custom application that runs on a standard Apple iPad. Flight, engine, and situational data come from a network of remote components: a core fight data computer (FlightBox Pro EXP), an air data computer (FlightBox ADC), and an engine monitoring system (FlightBox EMS). The system also includes interfaces to a growing list of third party equipment, including communications radios, transponders, and autopilots.

Modularity allows you to select only the components you need. Even better, it allows you to add multiple displays for the cost of an iPad ($250 - $1100 depending on the model). The components are lightweight, easy to install, and connect using simple modular plugs: no complicated wiring harnesses required.

The FlightView app converts any modern iPad into a state-of-the-art touch screen primary flight display (PFD) and moving map navigator (MFD). The PFD provides a comprehensive view of flight dynamics (attitude, airspeed, altitude, coordination) using a modern tapes-and-pointers layout. The MFD includes full VFR navigation capabilities plus terrain awareness, airspace, traffic, and ADS-B weather.
Easy To Install
Traditional avionics require complex wiring. FlightView is simple. Connections between the FlightBox and the peripheral devices use USB connectors and modular (phone-style) jacks to reduce installation time and avoid the pain of solder or crimp pin assembly.
Cost Effective
The core FlightView system retails for $2000 ($1000 for the FlightBox Pro EXP, $500 for the air data computer, and $500 for the engine monitor). Add an iPad (or two, or three) and you have a complete set of instrumentation for less than half the cost of any other touch-screen EFIS on the market.
Status: Seeking Early Adopters
Open Flight Solutions is currently seeking beta testers (early adopters) to participate in our early access program. Beta testers receive a significant discount in return for helping us file off any rough edges. For information about the beta program or to order a beta kit, please
